The majority of this majestic genus, cousins to the green iguana, are on CITES I - Endangered. To find the current status of each species, use the CITES Species search engine, searching for Genus: Cyclura, Countries: All Countries. My Cyclura site at the University of Indiana is a bit out of date in terms of recent research, but it does have a good index of species information, as well as David Blair's Cyclura care information. For more current research, taxonomy, and conservation information, the must-see site is Cyclura.com. If you'd like to know a bit about what it's like to have one as a pet, I've been keeping a log on Mikey, my captive bred hybrid. For an overview of the species and captive requirements, see Marie Eguro's Before You Get A Cyclura and Cyclura: The Endangered Iguanas of the West Indies articles.
