| Consulting Herp Veterinarians* = Recommended by herp keepers
 | |
| Sometimes, it is impossible
to find a vet in your area who is experienced with reptiles, or with your
reptile's particular problem. If your vet is willing to do so, there are
other reptile vets, in your area or within your
state or country, who may be consulted by your vet. Please understand
that these consultations mean that the consulting vet is taking time away
from his or her busy practice. Some vets have a stated fee for such
consultations; others may charge a fee depending on how extensive the consult
is. In any case, please be prepared to pay for such a consultation. If the
consulting vet doesn't charge, it would be nice to offer to pay something
towards his or her time anyway - state your willingness to pay such a fee
when discussing this with your vet. Note that the consulting vet may charge
your vet, who will then pass the charge along to you as a part of his bill
for services rendered, or the consulting vet may bill you directly. Specific
fee information is not included in this page as fees may change over time. The following vets are available for consults, regardless of where you and your vet are. Please pay attention to time zones, however, so you don’t call someone in the middle of their night! Canada
